    MPG - .AVI

I'm looking for an app. to convert a bunch of my mpg videos into.avi format when i decide to burn them all to cd's.

i tried one of divx digest and it made the file size bigger.....
i would like to keep the file sizes the smallest possible so i can put more videos on each cd.

I would think that an AVI file is going to be bigger than an MPG no matter what you do. Its the nature of the beast.

Yeah....i was actually wondering that myself.

I remember seeing on a movie on avi format, and the same movie in mpeg....The mpeg was the larger file size...
I guess that's what led me to believe the avi's would be smaller.

File size depends on the audio and video codecs used. I use the Radium mp3 codec to compress the audio portion, and DivX for the video. I use VirtualDub to do my compressions, a great tool.
