    Quake Frame Rates

I own a ATI 9700 Pro card. After seeing reviewers use Quake III for benchmarking and get up to 300 fps, why can I only get no more than 90. I got 120 on my Voodoo 5 so this kinda blows.

I have all latest drivers for everything as well as DX9. Here is the system:

    9700 Pro
    Asus A7N8X MOBO
    512MB Corsair Xtreme Memory
    AMD 2700+ CPU

    3D Mark = 16000

    Any input would be helpful.

    Thanks

There's a cap by default in Quake 3. Bring down the console and type:

    /com_maxfps 300

    or

    /cg_maxfps 300

    I can't recall which.

    It's the first.

    120 should be fast enough.
