Good Memory Versus Bad Memory
I have heard that buyimg Generic memory is not a great decision, what are some of the more reputable companies that sell DDR RAM for a good price. Your help is greally appreciated. Thanks

Crucial and Samsung, althuogh the earlier Samsung batches were better.
Corsair and Geil are THE best about but you pay a hulluva lot for the extra quality

My first entrance into DDR was with an Abit KG7. I tried generic memory and could never even get a post. Was at wits end looking for solutions, MB, memory, PS, CPU etc. Finally tried Samsung memory and booted immediately. Now the same PC is running an Athlon Thbred 1700+ at 2000+ and is stable as a rock.
I will now continue to buy Samsung.

Generic RAM is a lottery, you could win or lose.

I would go for Crucial DDR RAM.
Crucial also make video cards.
There is a good deal on the Crucial Radeon 9700 Pro at the moment.

I'm partial to the nVidia chipset. ATI is known for driver problems.
