    Graphics card fan?

I have a nvidia geforce 4 mx 440 64mb ddr and it did not come with a fan but on the nice box with the picture of the card it has one is this normal? and the tiny heatsink is really quite hot whilst running. for the mean time could i mount a case fun underneath my graphics card to cool it untill i get round to getting a proper fan for it thanks

All the pics I've seen of them show a fan, I'd be checking with the folks I got if from.

even the jatons I've seen have fans. sounds like somebody snabbed the HSF off of it
And no you should have a heatsink on it as well

Is the heatsink about 5-10mm tall? Then you need to get a 40mm fan. Delta and sunon are good brands.

This asus geforce 4 mx 440 doesn't have a fan either:

    I wouldn't worry about it.

Don't listen to those who say "passive is enough," tom2k7. In high-heat environments, active cooling will be worth it. If you do not follow the recommendations, graphics will look funny after a few hours of gameplay and the card's lifetime dramatically reduced.

...not that you would want to keep an mx440 for that long anyway...
