what should be the first thing to upgrade for me?

i feel like upgrading my computer, but i'm not sure if i'm lacking in cpu power or memory. i'm not going to upgrade my graphics now, because i'm going to wait until the geforce4 t4600s get cheaper.
    here are my specs -
    900 mhz amd t-bird
    soyo kt-333 lite
    256 mb pc2100 ram
    30gb hdd ×2
    msi geforce3 ti200
    i/o magic cd-rw
    windows 98 se

i also just got a new flat crt monitor (17" sony trinitron) to replace my very round one, and new speakers (logitech z-340's)

so...what do i need more of??

Faster CPU and more memory. I'd say an athlon XP 2200+ and ad another stick of 256mb of RAM

i was going to get another 256mb ram, but i couldnt remember if windows 98 had trouble with 512mb and above or just more than 512 mb. also, i'm on a slight budget (i can only get one upgrade now) so should i get a new cpu or more ram first?

For Win98? CPU for sure. You can get a nice 1700+ cheap:

    http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...alue=4159,3896

You may be able to add some memory too:

Bill, you can save him some more money if you go with the speed he already has. He has DDR2100 not 2700 Much cheaper this way

Because he said he only wanted to do ONE update right now

And since he said he wanted to get a TI4600 later, anything under a 2200+ won't take full advantage of the video card

And I knew that the 1700+ is already outdated
