moving files from 98se to winxp upgrade

I recently upgraded a computer to winxp.. everything went ok.. now I just want to move programs from the old 98se drive to the new drive with windows xp... I did it on a logical partition and can use the programs,, I just want to know if there is an easier way to incorporate these programs into xphome and exist within the same partition.????????? Seems like it will make things easier. This is my fathers computer and the less aggrevation he has the better.... Thanks tom.

I doubt you can move a program tied to a different OS to another OS when its tied by the registry of original OS and partition but you could install it to a different partition lets say and let both of them use it for example in a dual-boot provided both are using fat32 so you can see it.

For instance I have a dual of 98/xp and ran an app from xp that is installed in 98. So if you can see the program in one OS in windows explorer you hit the executable and run it which I just did.
    HOCKEY RULES!
