    Power supply and processor question

recommended power supply for something like:
    AMD XP2100+
    Geforce4 4200
    80gig
    would you really need 450w?

    thoroughbred is better than AGOGA?

so 1900+ thoroughbred will overclock and perform better than a
    2000+?

    2000+ is 75 bucks at nutred.com

250 w is ok for 1 hard drive and i cdrom or cdrw.
if you go to two hard drives and two cdrws, use 300w.
thats what im using right now. 450w is unnecessary
except for raid or scsi arrays.or multiple cpu servers.

    300 is all you need

450 is nice if you plan to upgrade in a few years and keep the same case and PSU

The performance of a power supply is not directly related to it's advertised wattage.

    Read this:
    http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/showth...hreadid=150384

The best power supply brand price/peformance is Sparkle. (Same as Fortran) A 350W Sparkle is comparible to a 400 Enermax.
This is where my signature would go if I wasn't so lazy.

400 is good when you have a lot of devices in your PC. 300 is okay for just few devices.
