disabling on board video...

Neighbor has a HP Pavilion 6640? (500mhz). He bought a new video card to run games better. Onboard is only 8mb.

How do you remove the onboard video? It's using IRQ 9 presently.

We want to disable the SIS 530 onboard video and install the new card PNY MX 420? or 440..64mb anyway.

There is nothing in the bios that says ..SIS 530 onboard video. The only thing in the bios that has anything remotely connected to the video is a RAM adjustment and it only goes ..2mb ..4mb ...8mb and thats it!

YEP...... so we do it with jumpers!??!

It's there, look under "VGA interrupt selection (VIRQ) and VGA setting (VEN_DIS)", you gotta take care of two jumpers. Peace of cake
