Need Data Recovery Software
Somebody please recommend a good data recovery software to recover deleted files (not anymore in Rec Bin). Fat 16/32 & NTFS.
Some of the links below are old. Also think Norton has a program too.
There are several undelete programs out there, the key is that nothing has been written to the drive since then:
Thanks Steve R Jones. I also came accross a Power Quest Lost & Found software. Don't know how powerful this to recover deleted files.
Try here –
iRecover for FAT/FAT32 and iRecover for NTFS
Power Quest has good products. Take Partition Magic as an example. I would give it a try for sure
Check at www.ontrack.com I think they have a utility that you can down load that might help. Good Luck
Here is some useful data-recovery info -

Ontrack's EasyRecovery Pro recovers the data from inaccessible hard disk drives. Recovery software seldom comes free because of its complexity. This software is no exception to the rule.
But here is an excellent exception to the rule...
The free Drive Rescue utility - http://home.arcor.de/christian_grau/rescue/index.html
Recover 4 All - recovers files emptied from Recycle Bin
"Best $49 I ever spent on utility software. Inside of an hour, I was back up and running with all my data restored. I have since had the opportunity to use the software on other "dead" drives and it was always able to recover some level of data, even after a format. The downside is that this utility only works on NTFS partitions. If they came up with a version that worked on FAT partitions, they would have the market cornered. Just wanted to drop you a note to tell you about this wonderful utility at a bargain price. The web link is http://www.restorer2000.com ."
Windows XP can be set to use FAT32 or NTFS file systems. You can find out how to convert Windows 9.x systems to use the NTFS file system here -

I used Drive Rescue after a fatal crash and got 2 of my 3 partitions back.
I should clarify that I tried OnTrack first, and didn't have any luck, then ran Drive Rescue w/o complete success, re-ran OnTrack and got back 2 of the partitions.
