    Converting FAT16 to FAT32

Is there a way to convert ? I'm running Windows Me. The BIOS and System Info from Norton Utlities reads my D: drive as the 10 gb it is, but Windows reads it as 2 (like a FAT16). My C drive is 40 gb and it is read as 40 it is fine.

Just copy the data from D to a folder on C and FDISK/format D from a Startup disk - unless Windows is there.

You'll need something like Partition Magic to convert it otherwise. You can then expand it to take up the whole drive. Considering your predicament, it's a worthwile investment:

You may have used the wrong floppy. In Windows ME, go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Startup Disk and make one there. If you use a Win95 floppy, you'll be limited to FAT16.

When you FDISK, be sure to say YES to large disk support.

If memory serves, W98 can do that after install. WinME cannot?

MS didn't include the conversion tool in ME as far as I know. In Win98, the utility is CVT1.EXE.

I never used ME, so I don't know.
