    Umm it says 8X in the box

    well it does!

    That the best i'm gonna get?

    the machine does 48X so where are those discs?

    OK I'm Not complaining but (writer 48X) best I can get 12X
    I bought 8 cos I'm a cheap skate but ................

    who does 48x discs?

    The market is saturated with these cheap CD-R's. I have seen 32x's, but they cost you a bit more. They can be hard to find, cause you have to dig through the 8x's and 16x's.

    MMore supports to 40 speed and Sony even goes to 48x Speed.

    The faster 40x 32x and so on cdr's are still flakey. Data errors and such. just wait a year and they will be more popular. Right now the drives are faster than the media cause the media is the real problem in general. Those discs get hot at 16x muchless 40x.

    Plextor drives have a built in fan starting at 24x burn speed drives.
