    SCSI combo drive?

Following up on this thread of mine from many weeks ago:

I'm just wondering (more out of curiosity than desire) if there is a combination SCSI CD burner/DVD player? I can't find one on pricewatch.

Newegg has a scsi one for well over $100.00. Think its a plextor... Personally, I stay away from all combo's as if one dies-you loose both drives. Plus most only have a 20% duty cycle (use time of drive while pc on). By combining them you push the duty cycle higher thus wearing out the drive quicker. So why kill your cdrw playing games and watching movies???

I looked there for a SCSI burner and it turned up a Plextor one, but it seems to be a CD burner only

I haven't found one for a SCSI setup. All I am finding is cd burners only. If you are looking at cd burners in SCSI. Do not get a Yahamaha brand. Go for the Plexy model.

When you drop a cd into a 16X Yahamaha it sounds like a helicopter winding up to take off. Vibrates about the same also.

That one ended up in my girls computer.
