    Win XP loss of cd/dvd-rom

    my problem is that in the middle of loading Win XP Pro, the cd/dvd-roms and cd-r/rw-rom go dumb but I can still burn on my cd burner. I have reloaded the o/s 3 x's. It seems to stop working at various times and I have cleaned the drives optics on all of the drives.

    Are you using EZ-CD Creator by any chance.

    I have seen it drop cd-rom's after you use the program. The only way to get them back is to reboot.
