Agree absolutely. Team up the SB Live! Value with good speaker like the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1's and you get great sound!!! Speakers can exert much more influence over sound quality than the sound card once you get beyond approximately AC97 onboard sound quality.
HOP = troll (that's what ignore feature is all about)

Next she'll complain because Intel or AMD came out with a new processor, geez
I'd love to get a better sound card, as well as the rest of the system, but I'm kinda cash strapped, hey, maybe she'll donate it to me? She don't like it anyhow

mpc2 is right, it's a he. I don't know what the name is supposed to mean.
I figured out where to set the ignore list.

CD's are recorded at 48khz anyhow. Only a good audiophile can tell the difference between the sounds, and you need great speakers for them to be able to tell, not anythign that is for computers, but real high quality stereo or reference speakers. If your using anything less, you won't be able to tell the difference. It's just a marketing gimmick to get people to buy it because it has better sound quality (yeah, if you have a 1500 dollar speaker setup, excluding the amp, which will have to be high quality, so chalk up another 300 to 1000 there).
A regular audigy will provide as good of sound most gamers will get unless they happen to do sound work on the side for fun and have a good setup, or have a good rig just to listen to music hooked up to their PC for games.
