Audigy 2 WHAT A joke!
Creative have lost my support I'm up for a terratec 24bit card next. I used a live card and an audigy but the audigy has only been out for a year over here (uk)
Audigy seemed fair for a cheap card.
now a year later and they have 24bit 96k recording in the audigy 2 well they can **** off no longer will my money be raked
Creative eat ****!

Personally i dont see the point in splashing out megabucks for Soundcards.. i still have a PC512 soundblaster and its still doing the biz, IMO why spend 150 quid on the newest soundblaster when i can pick up a decent older model for 40 and have 110 left over to spend on more system crucial stuff like ram, Cpu etc...

So what exactly is your problem? Did you expect for any company to just sit on their *** and NOT make improvements to their products because it would offend people like you? Do you also post idiotic rants like this every time nVidia releases a new card every six months? Grow up and get over it. Good luck with the Terratec and stop trolling the boards.

Jakk, for the price of a PCI 512 you can get a SB Live 5.1 now, $34 at newegg.com.

..i wouldnt really know about soundcard prices - i see no need to upgrade from my one and a bit year old 512, so i dont really look at em that much.. howeve rif the two id say teh 5.1 Live! is definitley the better of the two

Kaameehameeehaaa!
AUDIGY 1 = AUDIGY 2
in every feature
why they named it Audigy 2 then?
cuz they had a bad batch of Audigy 1, and they want people to forget about those, now that they have finally cleaned up the mess
so they are calling the new batch Audigy 2
Audigy 2 is their 4th or 5th batch of Audigy since Audigy 1 came out, which was the bad batch, from batch 2 on to now, they are all good

Kaameehameeehaaa!
and your point is?
so far it's the one that sounds the best, and all games created to support it
so what's the draw back on that, other than the Price that is?

I agree that Creative doesn't really innovate much anymore, but . .
My audigy is a very good card for the $60 I paid for it. (OEM is the only way to go) I just wish the drivers weren't so stupid.
If you look beyond the advertising and hype, the audigy is still an okay card, just not as great as you might think.
This is where my signature would go if I wasn't so lazy.

Audigy 2 WHAT A joke!
Am I the only one who is glad they people are constantly putting out new stuff and making things better? If you dont want the 6.1 or the 24khz recording buy something else...thats the beauty of them putting all these cards out...there is something out there for everyone. If you dont want or need to spend 100+ bux go get on NewEgg and get yourself a SB16 for $15.

There's no point going from 5.1 to 6.1 as a matter of course anyway. The only difference between the 2 is 6.1 has an extra tweeter at the back. As far as i'm concerned, it's getting to the stage where I can't really persuade the wife to have yet another speaker mounted in the spacially correct place anyway according to my *** grove in the sofa. As Audigy platinum (and ex) kits have come down a lot since the release of the audigy 2, you're probably better off getting one of these as you can do so much more with them other than having quake blasting through it.

I'm satisfied with my Sound Blaster Live Value... works good for me. Sound cards are the last on my list of computer upgrades.......

Obviousy some people have no real concept of sound compaired to video (which as my other post shows the PC is incapable of doing as well).
16 bit is ****. Don't Believe, listen to the latest Queens of the Stone age album, the red one, songs for the deaf. Now tell me the sound quality is not fantastic. If you do you have no right commenting on this subject, it is purely to be left with the experts but sound quality effects a game in every way and you cannot deny that.
24bit 96k is a big step up in creating a more "anologue quality" sound. It's not there yet but it will be. I want it. Creative are confusing the **** out of us for it. Firslty they had the audigy. Plays at 24bit 96k and recordings at the same but only on the SPDIF input. Audigy 2 is no different except for the Platinum EX Audigy 2 which will
Now come on does this sound like an industry who knows what it's doing
Of course it does.
Forgive them?
If they made a Fridge I'd be dead

her own pride: why can't you just go back to your macs instead of writing these incoherent rants about pc technology? I'm getting a little tired of it.
And no, 16 bit sound is not ****. Cds are 16 bit, and they still sound great.
Lay down the pipe and go back to your mac.

Why don't you go find yourself another hobby...you really suck at this one. Computers aren't for everybody, and it is blatently obvious they just aren't your "thing".
