    CD-RW/DVD... What do you think....

What do you think about those combination CD-RW/DVD drives? Anyone have any first-hand experience? I'm thinking of getting the Samsung SM-332BEA32x12x40 CD-RW/ 12x DVD fromm newegg.com?
    TIA

My opinion on combo drives amounts to this:

Why use one drive when it's faster to copy from DVD to CDR? Having to copy an image to HDD and back is not very appealing to me.

On the other hand, if you already have a CDROM, they make all the sense in the world.

That aside, Samsung, LG, TEAC, Toshiba and Yamaha are safe buys.

Well, I think they are quite useful when building a system using one of Shuttle's small barebone systems, SS40G, SS51G. Of course, I would only use one of these barebones for a specific purpose, not for general use, although they can be used as such.
