double gfx card memory for £15?

Right, new PC im ordering has Radeon 9000 64mb, which compared to many isnt superb, but still **** good. Anyway, for £15 extra, I can go 128mb. Reckon I should?
How much performance enhancement would I see do u think?
or shud I stick with this for now, and get better one in a few months.
    thanks, Matt

for the money 128mb is the wiser choice - shame it wasnt on a bit of a more powerful card though

    bigjakk, tell him the consequences.

listen mate, if you get the 128 meg version, your core clock will be lowered 25 - 50 mhz, i wouldnt go for the 128 version as games today dont use the 64 meg on a card.

nah it aint like that, im puttin it together on mesh.plc, and with 64mb radeon 9000 and all my other stuff, its £4 shy of £700, which is perfect. As far as I know, radeon 9000 runs well with XP2100 and my ram, so I'll play until I class it as "SLowing down" then I'll go get me a gf4 or summat. Im not spendin huge amounts of money if I dont need to :P
    im pooooooooooor

If you wanna be playing games at 1024x768 and up you will need in excess of 64mb especially for future titles, at high detail levels.. so what if they are marginally slower clocked, a bit of the old overclockign should sort that out.. oh and grimmy is right, the ti4200 is the better card

u gota realise too tho, that lots of the most demanding games are FPSs, like UT2k3....
This seems as good a time as any to point out that I dont play them :-) I dont like them tbh.
Im into drivin sims and stuff along those lines. Im happy at 1024x768x32 and I think frames will be ok at decent detail.Like I say, i'll play it with radeon as it comes cheap, then when I feel its time, I'll branch out into GF4 range somewhere.

For the sake of fifteen quid you may as well get the extra 64mb and overclock it IMO

...or get a gf4ti4200 if you can afford one

Yes, I can tehnically afford one, but I dont want one yet. Radeon 64mb + XP2100 + 512 pc2100 should play my games nicely for now. If I start to want a game that wont run with radeon, I'll get Ti4600. Until then, Im savin money for my bike

Okay then, ah i remember you now ....

Get the 64mb 9000 BUT DONT UPGRADE TO A GF4 from it, wait until gf5 would be my advice if you intend to upgrade the gfx
