    normal, Fast Or turbo

What should I set my MOther board to Normal, Fast or Turbo?

When I turn step my Cpu 142mhz Works Fine.
At 143 It doesn't boot into windows (xp pro).
My Core voltage is set at Default.

Should I adjust my core setting?
If So what Should I set it to?

    current temp is 43c

With that memory, you probably could try it. It just uses more agressive timings. You might want to increase your voltage if you want to OC farther.

I don't know that much about Core voltage,

    I have an adjustable range of 1.100 - 1.850.

It's currently Set at "DEFAULt" My manual Dosn't say what the default voltage is

WHat Core voltage should I use?

    Is there a maximum?

You should only go up ne or two steps on the voltage setting.. its something not to be screwed about with too much

BTW having the RAM timings at turbo is a VERY good idea, you can get some quite nice performance boosts with those agressive timings, so try and tweak as much as poss to get em stable

If you want max performance though - try getting those timings at turbo...

... dont push too hard though ( i personally never touch voltages anymore)

I have mine set to Turbo

just go ahead and try each
and run benchmark software on each

if they don't crash or die during the process

    then it's stable enough

I would agree with the rest. Don't increase the voltage more than two increments (about up to ~1.6). Beyond that, without good cooling, your CPU will suffer a premature death

Your RAM is good, highly overclockable. If you can't run it at turbo, it's not worth the extra FSB speed

BTW, your CPU is a 2.4B, meaning it has a default vcore of 1.5. (I think) All above 2.53 so far have one of 1.525, so theoretically the CPU should not be the prob at that voltage, so try setting it at that (if you can). Is there an option to increase your mem voltage? I would rather you do that.

Overclockings worth it if you can get a nice fat gain out of it...

For example a 1ghz tbird i got to 1.55 was just grrrreat (to quote tony the tiger )

However my 1.33ghz Tbird will only do 1.45 ish before i have to start crippling my ram performance settings to keep it stable ... which sucks

I prefer setting Normal. It just does good to keep my silicon safe from Britney Spears implants

Seriously, I have heard of generic ram going berzerk over that turbo setting. What I do is set it to Normal and then setup my entire system. Then, as a previous poster said, benchmark and test after you change that setting. If it runs good then your in business. The only word to use here is "CAUTION!".

I had my Kingmax DDR333 set to Ultra but only when set to CAS2.5, wont work when adjusted to CAS 2. I did not tweak any voltages as my mobo has no voltage tweaks for RAM. It's running fine for half a year already.
