    Water cooling temps

    Hi,
I just built a water cooling system for my XP1900+
    It is working very nicely.
But on my Radiator i don't have any fans,
When i start my computer the temp is 28C
after a while it very slowly starts to increase, until it get to 33-34 where it stops.
Should i put a fan on my Radiator to keep the temps down.

    thanks a lot
    Martin......

    So,
Do you think i should put a fan on my Radiator??

I might put a 12cm ANTEC (USA) SmartFan, i heard these are not too bad..

Yes I do think a fan on your radiator would be a wise choice as it will definately bring your temps down even more.

While those are good temps, a fan on the radiator would definately lower them with a minimal noise increase.

I like Sunons myself, but it's not that hard to pick a good fan.

Vantec Stealth fans are quite cool. Try a couple of those if your radiator is big enough.

    In terms of temperatures:
The more fans throughout the system the better.

Ive had a watercooling system with a peltier from leufkin tech for about a year now. average CPU temp is about 30c. still sorta a bit high, but i dont want to push it any lower that it starts condensing. also have an overclocked AMD Athlon thunderbird 1.4 thats overclocked about 200 mhz.

What wattage is that pelt? You should get better results than that with a watercooled peltier.

    Hey,
Is the FANS 12cm SUNON Ball Bearing more quieter than the 12cm ANTEC (USA) SmartFan.
Also could the 12cm ANTEC (USA) SmartFan run on my Radiator.
Because I heard that they can not run well under temps of 20C.

    Which one should i buy?????????????????
    thanks Martin......

They should run perfectly fine as along as it isn't cold as all heck. (like -20C)

    Thanks for all your help,
I let my computer run for about 1 hour without the fans and at the temp got to 38C idle
No with the fans it stays down at 33C idle
I left 3d mark2001 running loop for 1 hour and the highest it reached was 38C at load.

    I then overclocked it from 1900 (1.6) to 2200(1.8)
Havn't changed the voltage yet. The temps are 2C higher.

I am pretty happy with my homemade water cooling system.

I would use a fan if you want to take your speed higher but if you can get away without one than the benifit is a silent room. Remember the components in your case are gonna get hot and they need a little circulating air or temps are gonna get really warm and could cause probs. Usually the psu fan would be enough but if you have your rig completely enclosed in your case then see if you can set it up so that the psu and any other fans in the back are isolated from the air getting pulled thru the radiator or locate the radiator in the front of the case and using fans at the rear pulling air out and if you have a fairly well sealed case it will draw a majority of the air thru the radiator and can lower the noise you do hear. also most 12 volt fans work at 5 volts and do so almost silently.
