    DDR Ram

I attempted to start new MB, Abit KG-7 Raid with just video card (several) and ram. System hangs at CPU identification, can't enter CMOS, keyboard dead when hit del.
DDR ram is generic 2100, no name brand available here.
Will defective ram cause the sytem to stop when posting?

Not usually, but high heat will. Double-check the seating of the heatsink and CPU fan function.

CPU is as cool as the "OTHER SIDE" of the pillow, 31 deg. The same CPU F/H is O.K. in another MB. Don't know much about the characteristics of DDR ram.

    Thanks.

Ram fully seated? Sometimes those DDR slots are a real tight fit. Not having a good seat of the ram can cause all kinds of problems.
