    New.. Google ..News

    Newest addition to Google

    Supposedly Google has no intent on becoming a portal, (to what they say)
    it's just that this new NEWS sections works in a different way.
    You get to choose the news first then the source you want.

    Which brings me to another thing...

    Howcome each time I type www.google.com i'm automatically being redirected to www.google.ca ?
    Ok I live in Canada but eh... I typed ".com" !! And is there a difference between those 2 ?
    If anyone has seen both, i'd like to know

    That's been available since yesterday
    i was reading that during the whole day

    the feature i like the MOST is that they do say HOW LONG AGO it was added

    basically how Fresh the News Is still news and not History

    thats a DNS thing. it will happen with any ISP that has their own little google entry in their DNS servers.

    same thing happens here, if I go to www.google.com i get www.google.ie

    not quite sure what difference it makes as they are all identical apart from (possibly) language in some non english speaking countries. i guess it makes them happy to take our freedom of choice away from us. even if it is only in tiny chunks at a time.

    vibe666... funny though they just redirect the .com
    (www.google.ie) works just fine. I guess it's all the same anyway.

    Bizkitkid... cool, didn't know they had a Linux section.
    It might be useful with my redhat installation (hope not!)
