    UT 2003 flop?

i think a lot of people are having mixed feelings about UT 2003. some say its ok, and others just hate. i find it OK, but they concentrated on graphics too much, and not gameply. maybe it will be better in the final version, but for now, its not very fun. especially the CTF level

Well I started to play @1024 32bit HIGH detail and my fps is 45-65
In the BETA UT2003 my resu was 80x600 16bit MEDIUM and fps was like 10-25

So this demo is DEFFENEATLY FINAL!!

    I love it,cuz I always get 2 or 3rd place

Sorry to bring the bad news, Tanelusa

    From ReadMe-Demo.int.txt in UT2003Demo\Help directory :
    * Textures in the full game are, on average, 2X higher resolution
than in the demo. The textures in the demo were reduced because
    of download size limitations.

I think that Tanelusa *MAY* have been refferring to the fine tuning of the game engine being final... What ND said is true however, its got it right there in the readme file... If you notice, in the demo, a lot of the options only go as high as "medium" no doubt that in the final version there will be a "high" or possibly even "highest" setting and if you use those, expect your FPS to drop some. However if you're content with the way the DEMO looks, there is no reason that you shouldn't be able to use the same settings in the final version and maintain your current performance.

Oh, and I'm personally enjoying this game. It is ture a lot of people are concentrating on graphics, but what do you expect when people pay nearly $400 for their video card?

I am enjoying it but I don't know how much I will be able to play it before it gets old like every other FPS without a interesting storyline.

I just keep on playing with the philosophy that its only a Demo. Like all the tweaks that are out for it already, I don't understand everyone going "overboard" with it and being so critical. I'm coming from days when demos were non-playable beefed up graphic videos. Atleast this you can rock and roll with for a couple hours a day.

Yeah, I defineatly love the CTF. Before I realized to take off Instagib, that was the only way I was playing, with AI level set to one of the highest. Crazy.

I'm completely addicted to bombing run. It's all I bother playing...it's especially spiffy in instagib mode. Cmon, it's got a ball!

Man O' Man, after playing the oridg I am at a lost for words..

I hope the final will be more fluid than the demo, to me it feels like a Quake engine..

Its good... but its no quake 3

It'll serve me a worthwile stopgap in the wait for Doom 3... only thing im concerned about is if this is only 1/2 textures..and the outdoor levels run badly for me at 1024x768x 32 NOW, whats it gonna be like with all of em

...i just cant bring myself to drop to 800x600...it looks so....chunky

...hopefully they can get soem more engine optimisation in there before final release...althugh rumors are its all been done and dusted for some time...
