Im a lil dissapointed.. should i be??

    Well my 1.33ghz tbird (133 x 10)

Is cureently running dare i say - stable - at:

139 x 10.5 = 1470 (i know thats not the right number but thats how its shown at post )

Im a bit loathe to push to 140-145 FSB as ive had crashes there... and running at x11 is BSODS r us...

...whadda you think? Last proc i o/c'ed i got an extra 550mhz out of it, so i guess im a lil dissapointed... whats your verdict

    Cheers

What kinda ram you packin? Brand.

SO many Variables in overclocking if you even get 100extra mhz you cant complain. ( unless it was built for Overclocking.)

    2x 256 mb Crucial PC133 CL2

The original stick of 256 was cpable of 150Mhz stable and totally glitch free... however i think the recently added second stick is somewhat less capable

Can 1.33GHz T-Bird really go any higher ? Remember that T-Bird 0.18um architecture has a limit at about 1.5GHz ...

The Tbird 1.4 was the last of the Tbird models so getting a 1.3 to go any higher than a 1.4 is a success. If you have the AYHJA stepping chip it should have come unlocked. If it is bump the multiplier up the last notch to make it a 1.4 then change the FSB. And even if it isnt unlocked the pencil trick will work it. you may have to bump the Vcore setting to make it stable though. Tomshardware.com has a table for AMD chips that shows the Vcore setting for each speed... DONT GO ANY HIGHER!!

    Anyway hope this helps...

I don't feel like penciling my L1 bridges, and I've given my FSB a minor tweak to 138x2 from 133x2. Running at 1600 Mhz now from 1533 Mhz.

If I want to increase any more than that, I'll need softFSB.

I've run at 2100 levels, and it's just not stable for burning and doing Defrags.

XP's are laser locked. In other words there is a hole burned in to seperate the contacts. You have to fill in the holes before you can connect them. www.tomsharware.com has a video you can DL that shows how to do it....
