AMD K6-2 400mhz w/VIA: FSB increase 100 > 112mhz - Anyone know how?

Currently with 256mb SDRAM PC100 8ns I cannot simply change the jumper settings to get 112MHz FSB. It doesn't work. Also I've set the multiplier to 4.5x so I'm OC'd at 450MHz but would like to jump to 504MHz, and multiplier 5x won't work even @ 2.5v (not willing to try and bump that).

jumper settings and the manual - if you have dialup the manual download is 2 megs, but at least you can get it if you don't have the manual

the .tw sites never seem to be there when you need 'em

p.s. you don't say what cpu you have - you may not be successful pushing that AMD chip to 500 9those chips run hot as it is, stay away from higher voltages, it ain't worth it and I never could.....maybe look for the fastest K6-III you can find, great chips for that board

A sincere thank you rmanet. I've done some searching on the web, but the links you provided will help a lot. Ya, I know 500 is
pushing it but I'm going to try. Good advice on looking for a
K-6III, I think I might - but it's fun pushing this stuff. I'm at 2.4v and it works fine. It also works fine at 2.5v - but I won't go
above that. The oversized fan works great. The heat sink is not
even warm to the touch. I used the fan I installed to keep my
hard drives cool for the CPU, removed the Peltier fan, attached the oversized fan to the floor of the tower 1mm from the heat sink, and it's working very well.

Thank you for your help...I'm now stable at 500mhz.
I had to leave the bus at 100mhz, set the multiplier at 5x
and bump the voltage to a whopping 3.1v! But, I believe
my success lies with the oversized fan for dissipating the
heat from the heatsink cooling fins combined with the Peltier
'freezer' plate... Again, a sincere thank you for your help.
