Different IPs with a Cable Router

We have 3 computers networked with a router and cable modem as the internet source.

We need to get different IP addresses. We all want to play an internet game that allows only one call per IP address.

How can this be configured to work?

    your router does that automatically.

unless the restrictions are comming from the Game site

what game are you trying to play?

who or which site is hosting the game server?

Majormud, they restrict it on the specific game server to one call per IP to make sure you're only playing one character at a time.

Is there anyway around it, to get each computer with its own IP?

Like... If it were a HUB or Switch they'd all get their own right?

yes, but that also means you'll have to pay your ISP $10 extra per month for each additional IP#

i don't know of any work aroud at this time

    More than 1 public IP

If your ISP only assigns you one public IP and there is a charge for multiple IPs then perhaps write a email to the sysop explaining the issue. Sometimes they will want to call to voice verify each person.. blah blah (more of a trust thing with the sysop/mudop).

Btw, I played MajorMud in the past. I was Falo Type, Labassu, Gersidi, Ssrreett, Felis Night, Qbert and more..

    Do we know each other?

Hmm oh, I don't think this will work but search for a free proxy server to bounce through on the other computer so it shows another IP?

Most ISP's assign 1 IP address for each customer, that is standard. (At least the Main ones do anyway)

It's in your service agreement. (1 Dynamic IP Address)

And yes you will have to pay more for extra IP addresses.

So there is nothing to complain about.

i've thought of that too on my 2nd reply

but then i remembered those Games requires direct IP, bounced IP loses the stuff the game server sends to the other IP, so the game simply can't work that way.

Kinda like being in a firewall with all the Ports blocked, with no forwarding rules

router only pulls one ip address. All other "assigned ips" are internal ip addresses within your local network.

YOu gotta go with the purchase of another ip or talk to the sysop at your game site

    only way i know

The only problem with MajorMUD is that the software to run it and the software itself costs over 1500.00
