Case Fan Power cables
I just bought a digital doc 5 because I have like a zillion fans, and I wanted to be able to control all of them from one location.
Here is my problem: The digital doc 5 has the small 3 pin connectors for each fan (like the fan spot on the motherboard) but all of my fans chain off of the main power connectors (like the ones that go into the HD or the CDRom).
Does anyone know how to (or where to get info for) modifying the power connector on a fan to connect to the smaller plug?

Do a search on google for 3pin or 4pin Y adapters for extra connections should be able to get one off the net or maybe a well stocked local computer store might have one, better yet an electrical supply house would have one. Usually every city has a few of them.

Was considering a digi doc 5 myself a while ago
but they dont seem to of included a whatsit for controlling/ reducing the fan speed which would of been handy
Or has this now changed?

No, there isn't anything to control the actual fan speed, but it does measure the use of the power supply, and issues warning if too much power is used, and it can seperately turn on individual fans based on temp in different zones.
