    Television source?

What is the difference between U.S. television(NTSC), and European (PAL/SECAM?) ?

will a ATI Radeon All-in Wonder card work in both places, or is a different card sold in each country?

What about Egypt. If I send a friend my card will it work for recording video straight from the cable system like it does here in US?

ATI will work with all sources even Digital if you have the newest ones.

if you are in Egypt, i think you'll be in the PAL region.

    Differences

The differences between NTSC and PAL are pretty severe. They work on different frequencies, and have different resolutions. If you try to display a PAL image on an NTSC TV or vice-versa, all you will get is flickering images. I am not familiar with the ATI 8500 TV tuner, but I have owned several stand alone TV cards, and all of them allowed you to decide between NTSC and PAL. If the ATI card is the same, there will be no problems.
