What setting will be the best setting in the Power Management if you leave your computer on overnight ( but still have application like kazaa, icq, and other programs running) . Worm spreads through KaZaA

    http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/55/26794.html

Worm spreads through KaZaA network, again

Virus watchers have discovered the latest in a line of viruses targeted at file sharing networks.

Hackers LOVE "always on" connections. It gives them at least 8 hours every night to get passed all your security, all your passwords and set up anything they want. Once done, they hide it. You wont ever see that extra little drive where they store their stuff. And chances are you wont ever see their programs at work either cause the connection programs they use are a special DOS that isnt picked up by firewalls ( and I wont tell you what cause then other RSOLES might try to use them.)BUT what you might see, is your ISP cutting you off cause your using too much resources, OR your ISP being notified that your attacking some poor shlep~ with sub 7, and they cut you off for a month. Everybody says they have nothing of value and nothing to hide. Its YOUR connection that is of value to them, so that they can use your connection to hide their OTHER hacking activities.

You think its rare? Its not at all. Its just that very few people catch whats going on cause it really only shows up on netstats and not firewalls etc.But CATCH em.... and all the sudden your computer goes kerflooey and you have to reformat. * roe*

If your not home and machine decides to **** out and fry then its bye bye system, business can run 24/7 because they have somebody there 24/7 in case of emergencies, you don't so why not shut it off and be safe.

I have my monitor set to shutdown in 30 min and the hard disk to shutdown in 30 min. If I'm not going to be using my computer in the next couple hours I shut the whole mess down.
Takes 15 sec to shutdown and 45 sec to startup.
The power companies love for you to keep it all running 24/7.

    Some Info
