FORD 4.2 liter V6 engine----
two questions for Ford fans on this engine:
(a) does it use a cast iron or cast aluminum cylinder head?
(b) Is it part of the "Triton" series of engines?
thanx..

The truck motor? It's a purpose-built V6 w/cast heads.

its a 1998 f150 (truck)
i think the heads are aluminum and the engine is a Triton design..

I had the 1997 F150. I would have remembered if it had aluminum heads.
Ford has two modular engine programs - Triton and Romeo (trucks and cars, respectively). I don't think that the 4.2L is a Triton w/two cylinders lopped off. It's too big, displacement-wise.

Well - it does look like it has aluminum heads:

Oh! It does!

I still don't know if it's a Triton.

I live a couple miles from the Ford Romeo engine plant. Maybe I'll pop in and ask!

If we gringos were stupid enough to start pronouncing it LEET-RAH, we might start spelling it that way and shifting with our left hands.

He's talking about his car, silly!
This is where my signature would go if I wasn't so lazy.
