please reboot!
hi my m8 is in a bad way!!
his mobo died and he went out and got a new one
that's where his prob's started
system
jetway v266b mobo
athlon 1.4
20gig hdd
64meg vga
128meg sdram
!!no OS!!...not now anyway
he must've corrupted his HDD
so when he try'ed to start up he could'nt
he decided to format his HDD
now it keeps saying "invalid system disk please insert boot disk"
he cant get it to start in safe mode
or more important...input a command
i told him to switch his PC off at the mains and restart it...that get's my pc to start up whith option to start in safe mode (ms-dos i think)
but that does'nt help
i gave him a cd-rom driver floppy
so if he can at least start in dos he can install the driver for the CD-rom and re-install windows
any thaught's please

Maybe it wasn't his mobo plus I wouldn't recommend a jetway for that matter. Could have been his hdd was bad, had one that made a system look like it was dead try a different one. He should check or plug into another surge protector or just the wall outlet or a different one in case he took a hit. Might borrow another power supply see what happens as well.

What OS is he going to use? Make a bootdisk on your machine with a good working floppy disk so he can boot to dos and start an install. Unless he took a hit to the machine and other parts are burnt as well.

i made a 98se boot disk for him
the problem is that the pc starts whithout letting him
enter a command....like "install.exe" it automatically searches for a cd-rom then says please install a boot disk!
no matter what first boot device he sets in bois!
