    MSI KT3 Ultra

    Hello,

I just put this machine together.
    MSI KT3 Ultra
    AMD 1800 XP
    PC2100 Crucial 512meg
    Abit Surilo 32 meg agp
    Win ME
    Liteon DVD Rom
    Liteon 40x12x40

When I shutdown from my desk top.
The machine shuts down and reboots all by itself.
Then on reboot I get three long beeps and it will not boot
blank screen. The D-Led lite #2#3#4 are red and #1 is green.
Manual says early chipset?? cant rmember exactly iam at work sorry.
I have disconnected the reset switch totaly.
    Disabled AIPC
    All power schems are off.
The only way it will reboot is if i turn the power switch off at the power supply on the back of the computer.
I have checked and rechecked all the power connections from the case to the motherboard. And 4 hours of, I can't remember!!

    Thanks People.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Tony

    Not Yet

    Thanks for the reply Bipolar

    I didn't want to do that !!!
I have on two other computers and was successfull, but i didnt want to push my luck.
I figured it was new. I did check the bios updates and didnt see anything pertaining to my problem.
I was hoping for something simple that i was overlooking.
If their are no other suggestions i will flash the bios.

    Thanks
    Tony

I have that same board and I love it to death, especialy with those diagnostic LEDs on the back. Mine would lock up, restart and get me BSODs all the time untill I replaced the power supply to a good enermax 350 watt psu. Before I was using the generic L&C technologies one that came with my case. stay away from them, i'll tell ya what. Anyways, if your BIOS update doesn't get you anywhere, consider a new PSU. You didn't mention what kind you had.

The case is new. Some off brand 400watt. I was going to purchase a Fong Kai but this guys budget wasnt. If thats what the problem is, the next guy is going for the extra bucks.
    This isn't worth it.

    You Were Right SpaceBz

I tried another video card N/G
I replaced the power supply with an Enlight 250W
    Its perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Thanks SpaceBz!
The power supply in the 500SEL case was an Leadman 400W
    GARBAGE!!!!!
Lesson: I will never buy a cheap case again!
If they can't afford an good case then I will not build it for them!@
    Thanks everyone for your help!!
