    Thunderbird 1.0 ghz Question

I'm sort of curious about the statistics of this processor. Here's the chip information:

    AMD Athlon TM
    A1000AMT3C
    ASHHA 0138VPJW
    Y692296 0120
    (m) (c)1999 AMD

From the info, I figured out that this is obviously an AMD Athlon 1.00 ghz athlon (no sh*t sherlock) with a 266 FSB, 1.75vCore, and is set to run at a max of 90 C. What I don't understand, is that most Athlon/Durons were Green/blue, my Die Colour is PINK...I hate pink, but it struck me as odd, I also can't find any information on the overclockability of the ASHHA stepped cores, or the best cooler for this system. Seems this system runs stabler at 300 mhz FSB then the rated 266 FSB...also runs around normal temperature at 300 mhz FSB (???) but of course, the USB fails to function, so I leave it clocked normally most the time, high end for gaming.

    Stats:

    Epox 8KHA KT266 DDR PC2100 Dual ATA/133 AGP4x
AMD Athlon Thunderbird ASHHA stepping (Pink Core) @1.125 ghz
    V-Data PC2100 CAS 2.5 256MB (Seems to work nicely at 300 mhz)
    Voodoo3 2000 16MB

Can anyone recommend a good heatsink to keep he temperature below 111 degrees F at 90-95 F room temp? Also, how overclockable are these, does anyone know?

Eyeing an AGOGA AMD Athlon XP as my next purchase...hmm, maybe I should just wait.

Air cooling probably won't give you the kind of results that you are looking for. But, the Thermalright AX-7 and the Alpha Pal8045 I highly recommend. Get some Arctic Silver 3 also. I would guess that you can overclock that to around 1.4gzh.
