which when executed takes you to the "Are we going to switch off or what"? bit of shutdown

Is there a switch I could use to force a shutdown with it?

Just place a shortcut to it on your desktop, one click and off she goes.....

Yeah BUT

if yer set up 4 re start it Re-Starts

So I was thinking if maybe there was a switch
it could force shutdown (switch off)

even tho' the re start thingi was there........

In W98 Create a Shortcut, for the Target use the command, C:\WINDOWS\RUNDLL.EXE USER.EXE,ExitWindows

Ah, I think I know what you want, forget the shutdown file and go to www.tucows.com and search for "automatic shutdown"

I forget it's real name, but there were more than kind, of a little program that had timers and allsorts, and would shut your pc down exactly when you wanted, whether you got restart on or off. I used it for ages until I got dsl. i would time a download and set the pc to switch off after I thought I would have it, nifty little prog.

its called "Shut" oddly enough

Anyway got it connected to MOBO Mon 5 & all is stupendious


Much better than SHDWN or what ever & its FREE
