    PVR Ideal specs

    Hi,

I was wondering what you guys would recommend for a computer solely used as a PVR.

    --I'm looking for low electricity/heat

--Be able to easily record and play back at the same time

    --Go as economical as possible

Right now I'm thinking the following:

    --P4 1Ghz

    --WD 80G HD - 5400RPM (less heat than 7200)

    --looking for MB recommendation

    -- 512 Micron RAM

    So, what do you think?

    Thanks,
    Mark

They don't make a P4 that is that slow. If you want low electricity/heat go for the VIA C3 1 GHz, it's no Athlon XP but it'll do nicely for a low powered system. The C3 uses Socket 370 so you won't find yourself spending much money on a motherboard either .

Although... if you ran a P4 1.6 at 66 MHz FSB then you could have a 1056 MHz P4.
