ECS K7S5A- Is a very good cheap board, Some stats---

    K7S5A
    SiS® 735 Chipset
    Socket A for AMD® Athlon/Duron (K7) processors
Two 184-pin DDR DIMMs and two 168-pin DIMMs with DDR SDRAM or SDRAM support, up
    to 1GB(DDR or SDRAM)
LAN: MAC integrated in SiS® 735 & PHY on board
    AC97 Audio Codec on board
    5 PCI slots

Has a maximun of 1GB sdram or DDR ram.

This board doesnt exactly allow you to overclock however as it isnt and overclocking board. Overall though a very stabe inexpensive board. Also the board has no RAID or debugging feature.

How about a link so we may review it? or a source? The TW website does'nt mention this board , nor the USA site. Only the K7S5A ,K7S5A2 and both have the 735 chipset. Also, the K7S6A which has the 745 chipset. We are bewildered!

Rocketmech, skip it. The K7S6A isn't the real McCoy. What you want to review is the PC-Chips M846FL

    http://www.pcchips.com.tw/M846FL.html

This one makes good use of the SiS 745, having FireWire, decent sound, and onboard LAN.

    regards, Peter

    THX Peter,

I see the likeness now, the pcb color confused me

For those interested I found a link from Japan for the K7S5a+

    http://world.altavista.com/sites/ded...37294-000.html

The article suggests the K7S5A+ is just an attempt by ECS to bolster the 745 by capitalizing on the K7S5A 's popularity. Regardless, they both have all the features one would need at a value. It will be interesting to see some user reviews.
