    nForce2 or KT400?

Which one do you think will be better? nForce just came out so we have the actual numbers. In a week we'll have reviews. A major selling point for me is no VIA on board.

What do you guys think would be better for all out performance. I'm not interested in their integrated video. NVIDIA has estimated that we should be seeing top of the line motherboards using the nForce2 SPP and MCP-T to be positioned “well-below” the $100 range. Yet another major selling point. Right now I have an AMD 760 Epox 8K7A+.

If Nvidia can execute in time the nforce 2 looks like a great chipset.

    IF.

I would expect it's performance to be roughly comparable to KT400 with a couple of minor advantages in day to day usage. Nvidia has a better PCI controller, and the onboard audio is very good. But it may not bench any faster than KT400 unless the dual channel DDR does reduce latency significantly.

I remember similar sounding threads when first nForce and KT266 were introduced
One will take each mobo for the specific needed features, performance difference would be minor to either side ...
