    New To Overclocking

Hi, I am new to overclocking and am going to buy new parts for my exsisting Comp. I am Thinking An Athlon TBird 1.4 with a Epox EP-8KHA+ Motherboard? What do you suggest?

    Welcome to Sysopt

Nothing wrong w/ the motherboard. I have the 8k7a and the 8k3a+.
Now, since you're new to overclocking, you might want to try with a cheaper (less expensive) cpu. Such as the Duron. This way, if you happen to fry the cpu, you won't have lost much. I'm not trying to scare you or anything. But, its better to practice w/ something cheaper.

Here's the but, if you're gonna oc' by using the fsb only, then the t-bird 1.4G is good.
Where are you planning to buy these from? Just looking out for new members. None of us here like to see anyone be taken.
    As for a video card:
    great card if you're on a budget - Geforce3 ti 200 or even ti500
    few dollars more - Geforce4 ti4200
    money no object - Geforce4 ti4600

    CompUSA has a Gainward Geforce4 ti4200 3.5ns DDR mem for $149.

Memory - Crucial, Corsair, Micron are good. Don't get ECC, don't need it and the Epox board doesn't support it. ECC is mostly used for servers.

    Have fun with your build.

I didn't think the XP's were good OCers? I don't know - haven't OC'd mine yet - can't get the temps cool enough. Well that Icerberg you mentioned at exoticPC is only $100 - I just want to know - have you used it? And what do you think about it? Looks like a nice setup for the price - and you could always expand on it!

The XP 1800 is a good oc'er, only problem is that the XP cpu is a little harder to oc when using the multiplier.
It was just time consuming for me though. Of course, I did have the time. Still need a couple more parts to finish my new system.
