    IS my case any good?

I have Foxconn ATX3400-P4 Mid Tower Super Case that is about 6 months old. I would like to hear you opinions on this case. I think its kinda ugly and would like to do a case mod on it. Like poutting a window on it with neon light, and cut out a blow hole on the top of the case and put a fan there. Or is it not worth spending my money moding this case, where I should save my money and get a nicer case, and then mod the new case.

So what I am asking is, should I spend my time moding this case, or should I save my money, buy a better case, and then mod that one. Also are there cases out there with better cooling? This one cools good, 32°C for the MB and 42°C for the processor, but are there other cases out there that cool better?(try to find a full tower one)

there are pictures of the case here

    Thanks,

Spend money? Don't use a window kit whatever you do, can't get more n00bish than that. The way to do it is to pick up a piece of acrylic at home depot - its like a 2 bucks per square foot there, instead of 30 at a case mod shop. That case is ugly, but if you work on it enough you can probably make it really nice.

Wha? why would you want to mod ANY case? i think its an absolute waste of time, i dont even look at my case... its really ugly but i dont care, i dont look at my case while playing games, i look at my monitor... modding your case is noobish but adding a blowhole/fan in the top of your case is a idea

Why not, its a hobby part of the whole computing thing for home users. Its the summer most young people are off for the summer beats robbing a liquor store if you have time on your hands, no. A window kit makes it easy to do the mod all you have to worry about is cutting the side panel. I don't have a modded case but wouldn't mind it.

Agree with rangeral here. Whatever makes you happy. I've seen some pretty wild ones and some of the wood cases are great as end tables!haha Have fun, what's the harm?

IMO, If that 42°C temp is for an AMD processor at full load... there's absolutely nothing wrong with your case's cooling.

I'd save whatever money was involved, and save toward my next upgrade, OR... take a good look at the case interior, and figure out a clever way to create the best possible, cleanest, least air-restrictive wiring harness/wiring bundle array. Some arrangement that really helps to improve airflow. Maybe come up with something really different and innovative, that you could share (or sell). (Might even give you chance to learn some fluid dynamics along the way.)

I think that will be a good idea to do. I have wire everywhere inside my case.

Its so you can show off too your friends. I am not the only one that looks at my case. A lot of people look at my case, because sometimes I take it over my friends house to work on stuff, and we usaully have a lot of parties, and everyone sais my computer is ugly. Which it is Thats why I wanted to mod it. I have an old gateway dvd-rom that sticks out about 2 inches and looks real ugly, because it was made too only go in my odl gateway computer I took it out of. So I was going to get a new one. Its the same with the floppy drive.

I thought adding a blow whole to the top of my case is a good idea for when its at my house and I have it sitting inside the computer shelf on my deskt with the door close, because it get pretty warm in the, and I already have a huge whole in the back of my desk, so that the warm air could go out. I was also think about adding a fan into the fan holder in the bottom front. You can see it in the pictures.

Yea cleaning up the wiring as mentioned and a fan in the low front can't hurt and one out the back for more exhaust.

Rangeral, I already have that one fan out the back in the pictures, plus another pci fan blowing air out the back to. I don't have anymore room to add another fan on the back of the case. But maybe I could add one on the side door too.
