    Seti question

I'm running a 750mhz Duron CPU with SETI set to process only when screen saver is on. One (1) "data unit" was completed in 119 hrs.

    - Is this a time one would expect with my HW?
    - Is "data unit" the same as "work unit" I see in other posts?

The SETI screen saver does not seem a good one as only parts of the screen are varied. Comments???

    Regards

If you have it set to not run on the seti screensaver, but useing a blank screen it will run much faster. Yes data units are the same as work units.

Take a look at this Posting and try the suggestions there.

Using the command-line version with setihide has helped others acheive good results.

We'll be glad to help you out.

It should take you roughly 9-11 hours per work unit with your setup now.

Right you are - Averaging just less than 10 hours per data unit.
