    Passworded drive????

I currently have 1 hard drive and im running out of space. I need another hard drive (they will not be in any raid configuration) and i was thinking that I want that new drive to be passworded. I want to put all my files on the new drive and i dont want anybody having access to them. How do I do this? I also want it to be a hidden drive (kind of like a hidden file). The drives will not be combined into a single C: drive.

I currently have a 40 GB 7200 rpm hd and if I added a 100 GB 5400 rpm hd, will it slow down my computer? Will accessing the 40 GB 7200 rpm hd be slower since i just added a slower drive?

what operating system are you using?

If it's Win2K or WinXP, you can set NTFS permissions to restrict access to your files. You can make it a hidden share by adding a $ to the end of the name. If you look at your C: drive, it is shared as C$.

That works, also... if you have something call Partition Magic.

you for Real Hide your partition even from the OS, except NT and Linux.

Which you can still detect, but MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

IT Wont show up on your Explorer view.

which is exactely what you want.
and you can always re-enable it from within NT/XP/2K when you need it.
