Please help, my laptop cannot see my USB mouse

    Hi folks,

I recently upgrade my mouse for my Toshiba laptop (Model is Satellite Pro 4300 series) with Windows 95B OSR2 from a PS2 mouse to an OEM Logitech USB Optical wheel Mouse but when I plug in my USB mouse into the one & only one USB mouse port, my computer cannot pick up or recognize the my USB mouse but pick it up as an "Unknown Device", so I am not going anywhere. So I download the latest Mouseware 9.6 from Logitech official web site and install the Mouseware but this cannot help at all.

May I know where I can just get the inf driver (mouse driver)for the OEM Logitech USB Optical wheel Mouse ?

Or you guys could suggest some viable alternative for me to resolve this problem.

Any suggestion is welcome and highly appreciated in advance.

Win95 (including OSR2 release) has most poor support of USB devices. I'd recommend on Win98SE, or USB-2-PS/2 adapter for your mouse if you don't want to upgrade to a newer OS

Have you ever tried to update windows?

True Windows 95 does have the worst USB support. But atleast their best was when they released Windows 95 with USB support.

I wonder how many people will see this.

I wonder how many will see it on their own without me actually telling them about it.

Thanks for your reply and I think I will upgrade the Windows from 95B to Windows 98 Se right away and save myself from all the hassles.
