I think there are actually Risk 1 and Risk 2 games out for the PC, but you'll have a hard time finding them

THanks optimus, but I was wondering if there was anything more up to date with cool *** graphics and the whole nine yards but with the same strategic(?) game play. I love games that test your brain skills and not just how fast you can move your hand, or fingers.

the only game i can think of like that would be Civilisation 3 mate, im not sure about other turn based strategic games like that, unless you like the '..... GENERAL' series,
Fantasy General owned, i loved that game, sniff sniff.

I could never get into Risk on the PC. I think that most of the fun is the interation with real people sitting around you. There was just somthing missing playing someone online or the computer.

I'm really not sure about requirements. I don't think there should be any problem. I bought it along time ago and it worked fine. I'm just don't remember which computer I had back then.

Indeed, that is a great game, but as you said it is nothing like Risk and i wouldnt say it was a strategy as such, it is one of those strange games that combine elements of games,
It has turn based strategy features a la Laser Squad (if anyone remembers it )
It has RPG elements.

Sid Meier who created CivilizationI, II, and III got his inspiration for the series from playing RISK as a kid. I love both games.

I know im a bit late considerign this thread dies out a while back, but risk 2 is supposed to be quite good (wheras risk 1 isnt) and quite a good representation of the board game.
Try poking around the £5 bargain bucket at your local games emporium or some old deleted software sites etc

Risk II was pretty cool cause instead of just rolling the dice over and over, each time you had a battle (still rolled dice) you had a little action scene of the whole battle.
Now I never played this game, nore did I see it, I just rember reading this as I had intended to buy it, and still do when I dont have to pay $39 for it.
When life gives you lemons, throw them at some other poor sucker.
