Well, the duron is supposed to be really good. The t-bird is ok. and the xp suxorz ballzorz.

Duron overclock nice but pentium overclock even better.

That's not what I mean. I mean which is the best Duron series for overclocking. For example, is Duron 600 better to overclock than Duron 900? Which low end Duron can reach high clock frequency only in Duron series.
Which is the best T-Bird series for overclocking. For example, is T-Bird 700 better to overclock than T-Bird 750? Or is there a better T-Bird for overclocking?
Which is the best Athlon XP series( not Duron and not regular T-Bird series ) best suited for overclocking?

That's very helpful information for me, Lodzermensch. Thank You.

When you ask about the 'best' OC'er, what exactly do you mean? Do you mean the largest percentage increase in clock speed, or the overall fastest. For example, a 600MHz OC'd to 800MHz is a 33% OC (pretty impressive). However, if you run an AthlonXP 1600 (1.4GHz) at 166MHz FSB (1.75GHz, it's only a 25% OC, but obviously MUCH higher performance than the Duron at 800MHz.

This probably will not help but.
My Duron 850 is clocked at 1.06Ghz (140x7.5) very stable. I'm gonna try to go higher.

It would be better to look at test results to give you an Idea because we cant say that this 600 is gona make it to 700 you really never know when overclocking is involded you might get lockups due to your cooling you just don't know.

In the XP line, the XP1600+ and the XP1800+ are the very best for overclocking.
-
deadkenny, yes I do mean the largest percentage increase in cpu clock speed for that family of cpus. But I'm not sure what you mean by overall fastest.
-
The 1600 and the 1800 ARE excellent for OC'in. I hear the 1900+ is a POS for OC'in.

My 1900+ didn't OC any better than my 1600+, but that is probably more because of my other parts, unstable at 140 FSB with either chip. If your gonna go with an unlocked XP, get a 1500+ or 1600+ and take it as high as the multiplier will go

My XP overclocks quite nicely actually... A lot better than my tbird ever did.

A good OC'n AXP is rare to come by... remember how only one hardware site got good results in overclocking the 2200+?
