    My File splitting encounter...

    Hello,

I just downloaded some file splitting prg abotu an hour ago and i decided to split my 17MB Half-life update into sevral 1MB files so i could use floppies. now when i selected the exe file I typed in where it says split this file into so many KiloBytes however i thought it meant MegaBytes so I put 1 before i know it i had 17,000 file on the desktop and windows decided to crash whil trying to delete all the files that flooded my desktop!
so i restarted and i got nothing but the start menu and i condnt do squat. i went into do and type "dir C:\windows\desktop it took 1.6 mins to do the complete dir command

I said Uh ohwhile ready with the Format C: /q command i decided to boot into winblows one more time i didnt get the desktop i tryied to select the Ie icon on the quick launch on the taskbar it did not open so i used the ctrl-alt-del and iexplore was running! so I notice explorer.exe wa not responding so i closed it and here came Internet explorer i went into the C:\windows\desktop directory and found all the files 17,000 files too delete i said oh boy. i started deleting for 100 doubleing everytime

100 200 400 800 1600 3200 6400 and i did this till every file was gone. now it took me about 20mins to delet all the files even tho it was only 17MB dived by 17,000

i need to go too bed

    tired

So, tell me...... Just what does 17,000 files on your desktop look like?? Too bad you couldn't get a screen shot.
