    Password win2k

    Hi folks,
I wonder if anyone out there can help.
I have installed Win2000 Pro many times in the course since having upgraded etc etc.
But now I have a problem when my PC is connected to a network, I share my hdd etc, but when anyone tries to access it it asks them to put in password.
I have not put any password in at anytime.
I tried everything I can think.
Can anyone shed some light on this please?
    Thanks

you have to make sure permissions are set for particular users. I have had this problem many times before.

Is no such thing as universal, where if you don't put any passwords at all, then no one gets this password box??

Did you specify "guest" permissions to your shared folder? This will usually allow for anonymous access. remember to do this for both share and NTFS permissions. You can enable the guest account and set the password to blank. Guest is super restricted as it is, so i don't think it will be a big deal.

I'm guessing that your other systems are NOT Win2k? If they are, then they would be using some kind of password to get in at the ctrl-alt-del. In that case, you would have to add each account and password to your "server" system.
