Harddrive probz

Hm, when the system is at full idle..the harddrive can begin to think and slow down the performance..why is thiz?

Going to take a stab at this....When your computer comes to an idle, it allows the task manager to preform mantaince duties (such as Defrag) and also allows virus scans to run.

ok, but now it happens when i game also..and makes the game lag and the fps drops down to 10-20

antivirus software runs on my computer when i play games or something, it's configured to run at specific time and he is not asking me do i want to scan for viruses or not

go into Control Panel>Scheduled tasks and check there

okay, i had som PCHEALT stuff that ran every 30min..maybee that explains it

Hm, when I delete the PCHEALTH task.., and reboot. its still there, and if i change the time when the program should be runned, it changes back when i reboot.

meybe you have some program that changes it back every time

in my comp there is "pc health scheduler for data collection " is that the same as yours, this is running every ten minutes and I don't see any slowdowns

it´s probably the same, but i have notice that its Trillian (icq client) that steeals all my performance, when i dont start Trillian the computer works fine
