    XP Home SHUTDOWN........!!!

    well its great booting up but its **** at shutting down I have heard you can disable the "Virtual Pagefile Dump" an shutdown and maybe i'm right(as if)that doing so will result in a quicker shutdown so 2 questions 1)am I right if not other suggestions pls 2)If I am right how do I go about it..? ok so 4 an a bit mins to shutdown is not a lot but i'd rather it shutdown quicker if possible...ty

    Mine shuts down fine with the pagefile dump disabled.

    Check under the advanced tab of the system properties in the control panel.

    If the motherboard is less than 2 years old, just hit the power switch (not reset). The system will shut down so fast that it will make your head spin. It's supported too and not a hard shutdown.

    AMD XP1800
    ASUS A7A266-E M/BOARD SOCKET A
    512 DDR RAM
    XP HOME EDITION
    2 HARD DRIVES 10GB FOR XP 30GB FOR PROGS AN A SPARE 60GB DRIVE

    Just kinda thought 4 a so called top spec system its kinda slow when it shuts down.............
