    Fan Speed

    OK I have a 12V DC fan that runs a little faster than I want it to.

    What would be the best way to put a variable speed control in the line going to the fan?

    I went to Radio Shack and asked the guy there.

    When he got that dumbfounded look on his face I realized the explanation I was about to get would be a true masterpiece...

    I don't think he knew what a fan was by the look on his face, Comprender....

    Yeah I looked about and found that I need a 100 ohm 5 watt rheostat.

    We will soon find out.

    I put a 120 mm fan in the back of my monitor enclosure to suck out the heat. Boxed it in in the back and made a wind tunnel in the back so that it sucks it up and out.

    I turned on the fan and there was this awful noise and a rush of air, It sucked my face right up against the monitor....

    Gotta slow it down a bit...
