cellular modem help for note book.
I'm confused on how use your cell phone as a modem. I have a motorolla v60 phone and they sell a data cable that connects the phone to a usb cable. Is there a usb cable to phone plug or can i connect the usb cable and use it as a modem directly or would i need an adaptor to plug in my cellar modem pc card from 3com "3cxm556".
Any advise or knowlege is welcomed. Dont know why it's not that popular?

Because airtime is expensive.
The cable you get for the Motorola will install the cell phone as a modem. You then select that modem in your Dialup properties and simply dial from the laptop.
It's a bit slow too - not 56.6.

I figure now a days nights and weekends are basically free. I'm going to be out of town for month and it'll be really convient to have. I don't know if motorola's program installs as a modem or not?

Software required, of course.
