question: multiple users in win xp

I have a couple of user accounts on windows xp professional clicking and choosing the same user gets tiring after a while, because I rarely use the other user names. Is there a way where I can log into one user name everytime and switch to another user if need to?

Yes...disable "Welcome Screen" in User Accounts > "Change the way...:

Now install Tweak UI for XP:

Use Auto-logon as per attachment. All you need do then is log off when you want to switch. You had better know the passwords!

You didn't have to tell me! You should really choose a better password anyway. Mother's maiden name is always a good one.

So now you're all set up. Your PC should boot directly into your account.

Go into Control Panel > Taskbar and Start Menu > Start Menu > Customize. Check the first 6 items there. Now you will have quick access to log yourself off from the Start button.

That's it. You have the other user log on after you log off. That person can either log off or restart. If they restart, your account comes up by default. It they just log off, you will have to log on manually.
